Returns Putaway

SUPPORT A CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY RETURNS POLICY

With short product cycles and high ecommerce return rates, operators need the agility to maximize sale value on returns, especially when they occur late in the cycle. 6 River Systems (6RS) retrieves information from the returns management system to help operators put away and resell returned products quickly and profitably.

EXTEND THE VALUE OF YOUR INVESTMENT

Incorporate Returns Putaway as part of a new deployment or as an add-on in an environment using Chuck, 6RS’ collaborative mobile robot.

Performance gains over manual carts (shown on the bottom bar of the graph) are achieved by streamlining tasks, reducing in-aisle travel and eliminating long walks.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Stage returns in totes for putaway. Products can be commingled within a tote.

  2. Place the totes on the Chuck.

  3. Chuck travels autonomously to the pick area. The associate badges into Chuck and is directed to the first task.

  4. Chuck directs the associate through the putaway process, optimizing travel through the warehouse and using scans to ensure accuracy.

  5. 6RS sends a confirmation and any exception information to the WMS. The associate moves to the next task.

PROVIDE THE TEAM WITH THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB

Chuck makes Returns Putaway less strenuous by directing associates through the most efficient routes, replacing cumbersome push carts and improving worker safety.

For operations leaders and executives, the application increases operations visibility, system and labor utilization, and accelerates the return on investment.

FAST IMPLEMENTATION & PERFORMANCE GAINS

Returns Putaway can be implemented in weeks as part of a new 6RS deployment or in days in facilities where Chuck is already used for picking.

New associates can achieve performance objectives and master exception processing within hours while improving productivity by more than 40% over manual carts. Site leaders can assign putaway tasks as needed to keep the operation running smoothly.
